Everything You Want to Know Before Booking with Chrysidis Pet Care
Choosing someone to care for your dog overnight is a big decision. As the owner of Chrysidis Pet Care in Gateshead, I understand that pet parents have important questions—especially if it’s their dog’s first time away from home.
Here are the top five questions I get asked about boarding, and the answers that might help you feel more confident:
1. Will my dog be in a kennel or cage?
No. All dogs that stay with me live inside my home at 305 Brighton Road—not in a kennel. They have cozy beds, access to different areas to relax, and are treated like one of the family.
2. Will there be other dogs staying at the same time?
I keep things small and personal. I only take a limited number of dogs at once, so each one receives my full attention. If your dog prefers to be the only guest, let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate.
3. What happens if my dog is nervous or doesn’t settle right away?
With over 30 years of experience, I’m very used to helping dogs settle in gently. I use a calm environment, familiar routines, and plenty of quiet reassurance to help each pet feel safe. Most dogs settle in surprisingly quickly.
4. Do I need to bring my own food and bowls?
No. I provide high-quality food and clean bowls as part of the boarding service. If your dog has dietary needs, you’re welcome to bring their own food—but it’s not required.
5. Can I get updates while I’m away?
Yes, absolutely. I’m happy to send you a photo or quick message to let you know how your pet is doing. Just let me know your preferences at drop-off.
