Just like us, our furry friends can catch colds too. If your dog is sneezing, has a runny nose, or seems a bit more sluggish than usual, they might be under the weather. While most canine colds are mild, it’s important to know how to care for your pup properly — and when to get expert help.
As someone with 30 years of experience with animals, I’ve seen my fair share of sick dogs. My name is Kyriakos Chrysidis, founder of Chrysidis Pet Care, based in Gateshead. With a lifelong background in animal care and a friendly black Labrador of my own, I know how much your dog’s health and comfort matter.

🐶 How to Help a Dog With a Cold
Keep Them Warm and Comfortable Provide a cozy, draft-free spot for your dog to rest — just like we do at Chrysidis Pet Care. Ensure Proper Hydration & Nutrition Make sure they’re drinking plenty of water and eating small meals. Monitor Their Symptoms If your dog shows signs of worsening symptoms (e.g., persistent cough, fever, or lack of appetite), consult your vet. Avoid Harsh Weather and Overexertion Skip long walks in cold or wet weather. Our dog walking service after 4pm ensures your dog gets gentle, enjoyable exercise.
