Top Questions Pet Owners Ask Before Booking Dog Boarding

Everything you need to know—before your dog’s stay

If you’ve never booked dog boarding before, you probably have questions—and you should! Your dog’s care is important, and knowing what to expect builds confidence.

At Chrysidis Pet Care in Gateshead, I’ve spent over 30 years helping pet parents feel comfortable and well-informed. Here are the most common questions I’m asked—and my answers.

1. Where Will My Dog Stay?

In my own home at 305 Brighton Road, not in a kennel. Dogs live like family—no crates, no cages, just comfy beds and calm spaces.

2. How Many Dogs Do You Take at Once?

I care for Just 2 dogs at a time. I have a black Labrador Retriever so with your dog it will be 2 dogs at a time. This allows me to give personal attention to each dog and keep the environment quiet and stress-free.

3. Can I Bring My Dog’s Bed or Toy?

Yes—comfort items from home are welcome. Familiar smells help your dog settle quickly.

4. Do I Need to Bring Food?

No—I provide food as part of the service. If your dog has allergies or special preferences, just let me know.

5. Will You Follow My Dog’s Routine?

Absolutely. I ask for detailed notes about feeding, walks, sleep, and any medical needs. I follow your dog’s usual schedule to reduce stress.

6. Can I Do a Trial Visit First?

Yes—trial sessions are available, especially helpful for nervous or first-time dogs.

7. What Happens If There’s an Emergency?

I’ll contact you immediately and use your vet or my trusted local vet if needed.
